Blooming marvellous!

These are our competition entries for the Bloomin’ Yorkshire Competition to help raise awareness for Kidney dialysis. Years 3, 4, and 5 entered and one entry from each class was chosen. The winner could win an I-Pad and money for the school!!

This was made by a pupil from Class EF. She used two pieces of card with the white rose logo on. It was coloured using felt tip colours and laminated to make it water proof. They were then attached together using a split pin and white ‘tac’ was placed between them to keep them from touching so it was 3D.

This was made by one of our year 4 pupils. She made the rose head from card and decorated it with jewels. Then the stalk held it upright as it stands in a glass jar.

This was created by one of Mr Green’s class who has used recycled, coloured tiles which have been attached to a piece of wood and grouted.

Class EF went to Creswell Crags as part of their ‘Stone Age’ topic, they took part in lots of fun activities and really enjoyed their special day.

Class EF created paintings in the style of pop artist Andy Warhol. They had a wonderful time experimenting with shape, colour and pattern. The paintings were fantastic  with everyone completing a picture worthy of our new art gallery board!

We must give a mention to a brave and determined  performance from our year 6 pupils. Following on from the Barnsley cross-country meet at Cannon Hall we found ourselves representing Barnsley in the South Yorkshire finals. Our boys were competing against the ‘cream’ of the county with over thirty competitors, they gave their ‘all’ in demanding conditions and finished a very creditable tenth and eleventh. 

Well done boys we are proud of your efforts, showing true grit and fantastic determination!
